Volunteering
Pregnancy loss is a deeply personal experience. While every journey is different, it can bring feelings of grief, confusion, and isolation.
Volunteering with Miscarriage UK is one way to help change that. Together, we can make sure more people feel understood, supported, and less alone.
Whether you want to share your story, support others, or help raise awareness, there are different ways to get involved, depending on what feels right for you.
Ways you can get involved
Awareness and media volunteers
By sharing your experience, you can help destigmatise pregnancy loss and challenge the silence that still surrounds it.
Media volunteers work with us to raise awareness through press, campaigns, and storytelling. This might include speaking to journalists, contributing to features, or helping highlight the realities of miscarriage, ectopic and molar pregnancy.
You decide what you feel comfortable sharing, and when.
If you’d like to become one of our media volunteers, or find out more about what’s involved, please get in touch.
Peer support volunteers
Our in-person and online support groups bring people together to share their experiences in a safe, understanding space.
Our volunteers run regular groups, including pregnancy after loss, recurrent miscarriage, and general support groups. These spaces help people talk openly, feel heard, and connect with others who understand pregnancy loss.
Group leaders need empathy, care, and the ability to hold space for others. You’ll be supported throughout, with guidance to help you feel confident in the role.
If you’re interested in volunteering to run a support group, either in person or online, or would like to find out more, please get in touch.
You don’t need to have volunteered before. We’ll support you in finding a role that feels right for you.
We provide training, guidance and ongoing support to help volunteers feel confident and supported in their role.
Other ways to support
If volunteering isn’t right for you, there are other ways to make a difference.
From fundraising to making a donation, your support helps raise awareness of pregnancy loss and build a world where no one has to face it alone.
